Our Founding Story.

Creating a business is exciting! (I now know this first-hand) - but oh my goodness… there’s so much to do! You need to be a finance department, marketing expert, sales team, compliance officer, IT support desk, administrator… all while actually doing the thing you set out to do in the first place!

Then, before you know it, you have staff - and with that comes responsibility. But when do you find time to think about HR? Hiring someone to help you look after your people, manage processes and stay compliant often falls a long way down the list. And even when you get there, where do you start? Do you need an HR Officer? An Advisor? HR Business Partner? HR Manager? Head of HR? The list is endless.

That’s exactly why I started Paveley HR Solutions, to offer cost-effective HR support for small businesses who need a hand, but aren’t quite ready to bring someone in full-time. Whether you need help managing people, navigating employment law, or putting proper HR systems and documentation in place, I’m here to help.

Hi, I’m Sarah

I’m Sarah, Director of Paveley HR Solutions Ltd, and my career in HR began over 20 years ago.

I originally studied law (thinking I’d join the police!), but I quickly found myself drawn to employment law, which led to my first role in HR. Since then, I’ve worked my way through the ranks, from entry-level HR advisor all the way to Global Head of People & Talent at an international Language Service provider organisation delivering interpreting and translation services.

My experience spans both the public and private sectors, across fast-paced industries like retail, contact centres, telecommunications, automotive, language services, utilities, and the charity sector. I’ve developed and delivered HR strategies, led complex employee relations cases, managed global teams, and designed everything from HR training programmes to full HR policy frameworks.

And while I’ve had a brilliant career, the idea of running my own business never left me. I wanted to create a company that offers outsourced HR services in a way that feels personal, proactive, and practical. So many SMEs need support but don’t want the overheads of a permanent hire. That’s where I come in.

My Company provides HR advice, documentation, an HR Information System (HRIS), an introduction to Employee Dispute Insurance and training solutions to organisations that need a helping hand. Whether it’s one-off project support, stepping in to complement your existing HR team, or delivering a fully outsourced HR service, we work flexibly to suit your needs. Our approach is friendly, fast, and focused on giving you the right advice at the right time, so you can meet your goals without unnecessary stress.

First of all I’m a Yorkshire lass through and through which means I’m friendly, I graft, am straight-talking and I love a cup of tea!
I’ve lived in Mirfield for over 40 years, I’m married to Clive, and I’m a proud cavapoo mum to Merlin. I play hockey, love visiting our local bars and restaurants, and for the last 20 years I’ve been Secretary of the Mirfield branch of the Royal British Legion. Why do I share this? Because I want people to get to know me and I want to build good relationships with people - including my clients. I want you to feel like you can call me anytime, have an honest conversation, and trust me to give you the right guidance.

Secondly, I’ve worked at a senior level in HR, so you get the benefit of all that experience without the senior-level cost. Whether you need help with HR compliance, policies, contracts, grievances, training, or just someone to take away the stress, I’m here to help. I’ll take the time to understand your business, your culture, and your goals and we’ll tailor a package that works for you and your budget.

    With a Master’s in Strategic Human Resource Management and a degree in psychology, Liz has worked in HR for over 20 years across both corporate and charitable sectors. Having also run her own business, she understands the real challenges managers face. 

    Liz’s deep understanding of HR practices, combined with her friendly, approachable and professional manner, makes her an invaluable part of the team. She’s passionate about helping businesses create positive workplaces and supporting them with practical, tailored solutions. Liz genuinely cares and brings a wealth of expertise to every project she undertakes.

  • Mental Health Ambassador

    When we decided to recruit Merlin, we had a good idea of the behaviours and personality we were looking for, however when we first met him for an interview, Merlin was one of 8 potential candidates all desperate to win us over with their cute faces and wiggly tails. We knew it was going to be tough!

    Whilst Merlin might not have a great deal of experience on his cv yet, his eagerness to learn and his quick paws tell us he’s ready to take on any challenge – especially if treats and tummy-tickles are involved! We can teach the skills - we can't teach the enthusiasm!

    We've already had some long conversations around career development and we’ve already invested in some great training. We’re excited to watch Merlin grow, develop new tricks, and continue spreading joy.
